Using the Cyberwatch REST API

Why use the Cyberwatch API

Beyond the web interface, Cyberwatch offers a REST API that allows you to integrate inventory and vulnerability data directly into your existing tools. This API is particularly useful for automatically syncing your CMDB, generating tickets in your ITSM, or populating custom dashboards.

Available export channels

Cyberwatch offers four complementary export channels: executive and technical PDF reports, the REST API for syncing CMDBs like ServiceNow, GLPI, or Jira, Elasticsearch/Kibana access for advanced dashboards, and an MCP server that allows you to query your inventory in natural language using AIs like Claude, ChatGPT, or Mistral.

Common use cases

The API is commonly used to automatically generate remediation tickets in your ITSM, including the relevant vulnerability, the impacted asset, the recommended fix procedure, and its priority level. This eliminates manual data entry between the security platform and the tools used daily by IT teams.

Integration best practices

Before integrating the API into production, we recommend testing calls in a staging environment, restricting API token permissions to the strictly necessary scope, and monitoring call quotas to prevent any disruption to synchronization with your third-party tools.
